How to enter a trip or mileage
The Trip page will allow you to track your trip information, per case, and allow you to import it into the notes in the portal when you are entering notes in the portal.
When you press the Trip icon, you will get a search page that will allow you to search on the case that you are wanting to track mileage for. You can enter a case name or a case number to pull up cases that you have been assigned. Click search and your cases will appear in the lower portion of the page for you to select the case that you want to use.
Once a case is selected, your are taken to the "Info" section. This section contains the case information where you can confirm that you are tracking for the correct case, There are 4 clickable options in this section:
- Home Address - click the address and it will take you to your map application to assist you in getting to your destination.
- Phone - click here to activate the phone if you need to call the client for any reason.
- Case Mgr Email - click here to activate your email to email the case manager.
- Case Mgr Cell - click here to activate the phone if you need to call the case manager.
The "Mileage" icon will take you to the section to allow you to track your trip information. From here, you can see any mileage that you tracked on the case, that has not yet been imported into a note in the portal. Once a trip record has been imported into a note in the portal, it will no longer be visible in the mobile app. You have 2 actions that you can take from here:
- Start a Trip - when you are ready to begin, press "Start Trip" and you will get a popup to allow you to enter the purpose of trip, beginning odometer and address where you are starting. The address will auto populate from the GPS on the device. If it is not 100% accurate, simply type over it to correct it. Press "Save Trip" and your trip start has been logged. A blue section will now appear on the screen to let you know that a trip has been started, but not ended.
- End a Trip - when you are ready to end a trip, follow the same procedures as above to locate the case and go to the mileage icon. You will see a blue section that contains the start of the trip. You will press "End Trip", enter your odometer and address, and press "Save Trip". The complete trip will now be visible, by date, at the bottom of the screen.
If you start a trip and forget to end it, you will need to end it to begin another tip. If the information is not correct you can then delete or correct the errant trip in the portal when you import it into a case note.
